4 Yahweh spoke to you (A)face to face at the mountain (B)from the midst of the fire. 5 (C)I was standing between Yahweh and you at that time, to declare to you the word of Yahweh; (D)for you were afraid because of the fire and did not go up the mountain. [a]He said,

6 ‘(E)I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of [b]slavery.
